Day 5 Daniel Fast Devotional_Secret of Listening_Mano and Lori Boussuge
The secret of listening…
Psalm 81:7 “I answered you in the secret place of thunder.”
Referring here to mount sinai as a secret place encounter with his people. Remember the Lord took the Israelites out of Egypt and called them aside to a deserted mountain in order to speak with them and give them his commandments.
He still longs for his people today to hear his voice and to respond accordingly and so we close the door to our secret place so that we might shut out all distracting voices and only tune our hearts to the one voice which we long to hear…his.
The lord is inviting us today to hear his voice…he who has ears to hear let him hear.
So we first position ourselves to listen but then we need to HEAR…as all kingdom living depends on this single word…We need to hear his voice and act accordingly.
I encourage you to talk to the lord in the secret place, but make sure you leave enough room for him to speak to you so you can hear his voice.
Sometimes this comes easily to us but sometimes we need a little primer. When you are stuck I would encourage you to read the psalms until you hearĀ his voice in them. It might take some contending on your part but it is worth pushing through to get to the glorious time when we hear his voice.
My role in the secret place is to listen for anything the Lord might want to speak and voice them back to him in prayer and petition (your will on earth as it is in heaven).
Today if you hear his voice…psalm 95:7, yes today you will hear his voice as the lord will open up your hearing in his presence…

Got something to say?

I guess the Lord is trying to say something to me since the past two days have been about LISTENING– so far my fast has been a lot of praying and asking. Thanks Mano and Lori for your gentle encouragement.
I love that 2 days in a row were on listening to Him, from 2 different perspectives. I can hear your hearts I read this. Thanks, Mano and Lori.
