Saturday, Jan 23: Devotional– DECREE

After Peter’s bold confession of Christ, Jesus gave a powerful charge to the church- Matthew 16:19 “I will give you the keys to the Kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.” This was not something Peter made up, but was a direct revelation from the Father. We have the honor and responsibility to sit before the Father now and hear His revelations that need decreed. We are called to be the watchmen, called to stand in the gap, to hear and see what the spirit is saying and bring it to bear on earth. It is first loosed on earth and then in heaven. This isn’t about talking louder, stronger, or firmer, it’s about knowing your identity as a son and daughter, and how what He has is yours.

Our perfect example and older brother, Jesus, modeled this for us in the way he interacted with people. He didn’t approach a situation timidly, hoping God would answer, but spoke confidently on behalf of the Father. Our inheritance as sons and daughters is the same confidence and same power Jesus accessed by knowing the Father’s heart.

May your eyes and ears be open to hear what your Father is saying today. And may you boldly proclaim what is being said in the heavens. His Kingdom come, His will be done!
